Puwakaramba Industries, the biggest investment of the Group’s history, marks a huge milestone as it testifies the commitment of Puwakaramba Group’s shift into the manufacturing sector to manufacture and distribute products vital towards the construction industry. This move comes as a result of the impact of Covid-19 pandemic where the country’s foreign currency reserves took a huge hit and showed the world how volatile the global supply chains were. Puwakaramba Industries’ focus is to manufacture products which were previously imported by the Group at a much lower cost and pass on the benefit to the end consumers.

In the initial stage, less than half of the land area will be utilized to establish 03 factories to produce Stainless Steel Tubes, PVC Foam Boards & Plywood Sheets. After these manufacturing plants are fully functioning, management of Puwakaramba Group will be planning to establish more factories in the ample unutilized area to manufacture products suitable for the local market.

The aim is to eliminate the need for importation of the selected products into Sri Lanka and be able to cater the local demand 100% through our extensive manufacturing capacities. All manufacturing plants to be established will have provisions for expansions to match the future growth in the country’s construction industry.
