Silkway Cargo was incorporated in October 2018 as a freight forwarding-focused company within the Puwakaramba Group of Companies initiated by the founder himself, as freight forwarding plays a major role in the industry of transportation & logistics.

The company name ‘Silkway Cargo’ is derived from the ancient network called the Silk Road which was a trade route connecting the East & West in the lucrative trade in Silk.

Silkway Cargo carries the same concept where freight forwarding will be a tradition of trust as maintained in the ancient days but with our target customer in focus.

At inception, Silkway Cargo’s primary focus was on handling the Group of Companies’ general cargo importation (Ocean) through various origins.

However, with the service levels & expertise built in-house, the company has entered the market as a fully-fledged freight forwarding company in Sri Lanka, where it has transformed to be a ‘one-stop shop’ service provider on all transport & logistics requirements whilst ensuring excellent customer service to the clients focused on their requirements & capitalizing on in house expertise it has in the trade.
